I try to pay attention to what going on within the campaign camps and I have to admit that Ralph Nader is speaking my language. In a recent email letter he referred to McCain, Obama, and Clinton as Corporate Democrats and Corporate Republicans…I agree with that. In many respects it is the same song, the Dems are preaching change but not enough change.

Ralph Nader’s  puts the ball back in play on important issues ALL other candidates have taken off the table. This makes Nader campaign a significant factor in the presidential debates.  I want to hear the candidates answer some of the issues  raised by Nader, such as why are the following items considered off the table by Clinton, Obama and McCain:

  • Single payer national health insurance
  • Cut the huge wasteful military budget
  • Solar energy first & no to nuclear power
  • Aggressive crackdown on corporate crime and corporate welfare
  • Adopt a carbon pollution tax
  • End corporate personhood
  • And first and foremost, impeach Bush/Cheney

That having been said, I’ve decided to contribute to the Nader campaign not because I plan to vote Nader in the next election but because Nader’s insertion into these debates will for force Corporate Democrats and Republicans to answer and address issues that they won’t talk about otherwise.

Corporate power should never determine the scope of change Americans have access to –  Debate Nader!

The following is a recent email from the Nader camp:

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer gets caught with a hooker.

The Republicans call for his impeachment.

Spitzer resigns within a week.

Bush engages the country in a criminal war in Iraq.

IMPEACH BUSH. IT'S THE AMERICAN THING TO DO.More than a million Iraqis are killed.

Almost 4,000 Americans are killed.

Tens of thousands are seriously injured.

Five years go by.

Obama/Clinton/McCain take impeachment off the table.

Bush and Cheney go free.

As Ralph Nader put it recently:

“The American people have no authority to challenge these governmental crimes, which are committed in their name. They are rendered defenseless except for elections, which the two party duopoly has rigged, commercialized, and trivialized. Even in this electoral arena, a collective vote of ouster of the incumbents does not bring public officials to justice – just to another position usually in the high paying corporate world.”

Nader/Gonzalez demand that impeachment be put back on the table.

For impeachment of Bush/Cheney to be heard in this election year, it is imperative that Nader/Gonzalez get on state ballots all across this country.

Right now, we are raising money to put Nader/Gonzalez on the ballot in Arizona – the home state of the candidate of perpetual war – John McCain.

In just two days, we have raised more than $14,000 from 180 of you – our loyal supporters.

That takes us more than 25 percent of the way to meeting our goal of $50,000 for the week.

We project that $50,000 will get us the necessary 40,000 signatures we need by June 4, 2008 to get Nader/Gonzalez on the ballot in Arizona.

When we reach our goal, we will deploy our troops to Arizona.

And we will take the message to Arizona and the country – Impeach Bush and Cheney.

To fund our Arizona petition drive, we need another 360 of you to donate $100 each – and we’ll head out to Tucson and Phoenix.

Remember the Zogby poll from yesterday.

McCain 45, Clinton 39, Nader 6.

McCain 44, Obama 39, Nader 5.

And we’re just getting started.

Obama/Clinton/McCain take impeachment off the table.

Nader/Gonzalez put it back on.

Send this message across the country now.

Remember, every dollar counts.

And you can give up to 2,300 of them.

Call it – “maxing out for impeachment.”

Thank you again for your ongoing support.
