I ran across a blog and some news clips that I found unsettling. Since I just posted Zeitgeist, a film that raises issues about 9/11, the IRS and the formation of the Federal Reserve, I found this blog especially interesting because it discussed a couple who refused to pay their taxes based on reasons not dissimilar to those discussed in Zeitgeist. The couple was of course sentenced to jail…but it seems that bloggers, who pay their taxes but supported the couple have been visited by the Department of Justice…It’s comforting to know America is defending freedom….

When I read the story I thought about Sauk Center native Sinclair Lewis who wrote: When Facism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.

While Zeitgeist covers IRS and Federal Reserve issues in depth, it is interesting to note that Charles August Lindbergh was among the legislators who opposed the Federal Reserve Act. Charles August Lindbergh was a Congressman for the 6th congressional district and father of Charles Augustus Lindbergh, the famed pilot. Did you know that the Federal Reserve isn’t really a part of the federal government.

Scratching my fishy head again,

Famous Quotes of Congressman Charles August Lindbergh:

This Act [Federal Reserve Act] establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President signs this bill the invisible government by the Money Power, proven to exist by the Money Trust investigation, will be legalized…This is the Aldrich Bill in disguise…The people may not know it immediately, but the day of reckoning is only a few years removed. The trusts will soon realize that they have gone too far even for their own good. The people must make a declaration of independence to relieve themselves from the Monetary Power. This they will be able to do by taking control of Congress. Wall Streeters could not cheat us if you Senators and Representatives did not make a humbug of Congress… If we had a people’s Congress, there would be stability.”

“Congress is not justified in issuing an Act that does not do complete justice to all. Merely to improve a false old system, but still leave it in operation, to continually force a sacrifice of the People’s very life energies, is criminal”
